Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a highly skilled Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Operations Supervisor (TTE) to oversee the Northwest Region Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Shoreline. This is a unique opportunity to lead a complex engineering unit that manages real-time traffic operations across one of the most congested and dynamic regions in the state.
As the leader of the TMC, you will guide a diverse technical team—ranging from supervisors and engineers to technicians and interns—while overseeing daily operations that directly impact the safety, mobility, and reliability of Washington’s freeway and arterial systems. Your decisions will influence everything from routine traffic management to high-stakes emergency operations, making this role central to protecting lives and keeping the region moving.
This position requires in-depth expertise in ITS, freeway and tunnel operations, and systems engineering. You will apply advanced technical knowledge to design, implement, and maintain ITS solutions, while also developing integrated operations plans in close collaboration with local agencies. In emergencies, you will serve as the primary point of communication with regional partners, ensuring a coordinated and effective response.
