The Labor Day national "Workers Over Billionaires" protest in Lake Forest Park attracted an estimated 300 lively protesters.

Held on "Democracy Corner" in Lake Forest Park (LFP), protestors mentioned many times how great it is to be together at these non-violent events, standing up for Democracy and our Republic.

One protestor remarked that it's so helpful to have "local protests all over." He grew up in Lake Forest Park, currently lives in Redmond, but was visiting his aging mother in LFP. He was able to attend a protest, visit a place he remembers fondly, and spend time with his mother.

Protest participants are grateful to the organizers who put these events together. And protest organizers say they are thankful for the consistency in good turnout.

Here are several quotes from protestors about their experience today:

"People were dancing, singing along, and clearly energized by the well-chosen music."

When asked why they attended today's protest:

"It's my local community, and I wanted to be with them in solidarity."
"I want my voice heard and encourage others to speak up and be active."

Some things they liked:

"As always in Lake Forest Park, an energetic event! Some hilarious costumes! Good to be with fellow activists!
"Loved the variety of signs, and glad you are collecting school supplies."

The LFP Voices for Justice community group, which organizes the protests, is a welcoming and inclusive community that encourages everyone concerned about authoritarianism to attend any protest.
