Considering that bear sightings are increasing during the traditional hybernation months for bears (the winter season), it wouldn't surprise me if groundhog day was eventually canceled because a bear decided to eat a groundhog before the big day. Bears are largely vegan, but will eat some meat when plants and berries are scarce, as they can be in the winter.
