Reader challenge: The colors of spring

Everything is in bloom now - so many colors!

I don't think I've ever seen this flower before. Are the leaves really rimmed with yellow or is it just the light? Are the flowers supposed to spread out like this or are they fading?

The ground cover with the tiny green leaves - is it actually ground cover or am I looking at a hedge?

All right all you gardeners - help me out here!

Well, the leaves appear most definitely as a Rhododendron species. The flower resembles the lupine flower, but I’m going to call it a rhododendron. Am I wrong? :)

The yellow flowering shrub appears to be a Rhododendron. The yellow leaf margins I believe are due to a nutrient deficiency.
