Fred Meyer has added three electric vehicle charging stations in its parking lot on Aurora in Shoreline.

It joins Trader Joe's as the second business and Shoreline City Hall to include charging stations for the public.

Updates:

1. Reader Erin O'Connor says the chargers at Fred Meyer are not free and her charge there cost $22.

2. Reader Larry Owens provided this comprehensive information about charging stations:
  • The 10 Chargers at Trader Joe's are NOT Free. They are Tesla Superchargers (level 3 chargers) and not free. (Tesla NACS type)
  • Chargers at Shoreline City Hall are free, but slower speed Level 2 chargers. The ones at Shoreline City Hall have been in operation for about 7-8 years and are powered by the Solar system you can see above the parking garage. (J-1772 type)
  • Safeway @175th & 15 Ave NE has 2 free Level 2 chargers. (J-1772 type)
  • The 6 chargers at Shoreline Community College are Level 2, and are not free. (J-1772 type)
  • There are 8 High Speed (Level 3) Chargers at T&C (Formerly Central Market): NACS (Tesla), CCS1, CHAdeMO
Thanks to you both!
