| Valerie Snider, candidate for Pos. 1 Shoreline City Council |
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and earned my business degree and MBA in the Seattle area. With a well-rounded, local career in big-tech, small business, and public service, I bring diverse experience and a full commitment to serve all the people of Shoreline.
As a homeowner in the Ridgecrest neighborhood, I love being able to walk to parks and the light rail. To satisfy a growing population and provide a healthy quality of life, a balance must be struck between preserving nature and developing urban spaces.
I support Shoreline public schools, mental health services, and safe gathering places. Living, working, and doing business in Shoreline must be affordable, practical, and desirable.
On City Council, I will be an effective voice for a clean environment, affordable housing and available shelters, reduced barriers for small businesses, and streets that are bike and pedestrian-friendly.

Valerie Snider will be an experienced advocate on all issues affecting the quality of life for adults and children in Shoreline, from schools to housing to safety in our neighborhoods. She is able to put her energy and knowledge to work on far more than one special interest. I hope she is given that opportunity.
I support Valerie Snider for Shoreline City Council Position 1. In her announcement, Ms Snider shares her concerns about mental health programs, affordable housing, safety, and the environment – all of these issues will benefit from Council’s attention over the next several years.
Thank you for running Valerie. It's so nice to have alternative candiate!
Thank you for standing. Your platform (from you webpage) appears to consist of 8 bullet points. Can you provide any more granularity?
Yeah no. You will tax and spend us to the poor house while spewing socialist drivel. MAGA!!
Valerie's statement resonates. We need folks in office that care about affordable housing and keeping our community safe and livable. I look forward to hearing more about her positions. Valerie, thank you for being willing to run for office.
I'm glad multiple candidates are running! I hope someone (shorelineareanews??) will interview the candidates so we can get to know their positions on recent or upcoming important/controversial council topics as well as their vision for the city.
Because as it stands I know nothing about either candidate. The only thing I can easily discern is Save Shoreline Trees members (comments above) are apparently endorsing this candidate. Hopefully I can learn more about both to make an informed decision.
Thank you for your support and your comments. I appreciate learning about what’s important to you about our city. It helps guide my initiatives.
Valerie is my favorite niece (FN) and I’ve known her for her entire life. While we don’t always agree, I can assure you she will always carefully listen to every comment, consider every suggestion, and act I. The best interest of the Shoreline Community.
Thanks UD! Love you 🥰
Thank you for asking.
There must be financial incentives for small businesses, green spaces, and gathering places at the light rail stations to make Shoreline a desirable and accessible destination.
Streets must be safe, bikable, and walkable to the stations and other gathering areas like near the Crest, North City, the senior center, and Shoreline Place. .
This will increase spending and tax revenue, while also reducing tax levies which are disproportionately shouldered by the middle class and lower income families.
That comment is good enough for me to support Valerie.
