Thank you to their incredible staff for always going the extra mile for local animals in need!

Formal opening of Bella's Voice

Monday, February 2, 2026

The mayor was there - Chamber of Commerce set up the formal ribbon cutting - not that ribbon cuttings are ever really formal - one of the owners wielded the scissors - and then everyone went into to shop.

The interior looks more like a department store than anything else. Rows and rows of neatly arranged clothing. Book shelves full of books - although they might not be as full after the opening!

Seattle Area Feline Rescue (SAFe Rescue) was the charity recipient of the day, with 50% of the day's profits going to their organization in Ballinger Village.

A small shop near the front of the store sells snacks and popcorn. Next to them was a spin the wheel game.

A table for Bow Bow ties sold animal accessories. Behind them, the wall painting features Bella herself.

I did mention books, didn't I? They may need more donations after today.

Grand Opening for Bella's Voice thrift shop January 31, 2026

Tuesday, January 20, 2026

Bella's Voice is a nonprofit dedicated to keeping pets with their families and strengthening the local animal welfare network. Through our donation-based thrift stores and outreach programs, we provide essential support to pet owners and animal organizations to ensure animals remain in loving homes and receive the care they deserve.

We operate a Pet Resource Center, which connects individuals and families with the animal services they need—no I.D. Our Pet Food Bank packages pet food for families, and delivers pet food to local food banks. We support over 100 local families weekly. Our Vet Bill Program offers emergency grants to cover or offset the costs of surgery and vet bills for those whose pets are in urgent or sudden need of serious medical help.

Bella's Voice opens in Shoreline

Our Thrift Stores are 100% donation-based, and all sales go directly to caring for animals. We offer a Weekly Discount Cycle with items at 25%, 50%, and 75% off, and each Sunday, the 75% off tags drop to 99¢. On Tuesdays, seniors 55+ get a discount of 20% off their entire purchase. We also offer military discounts with an I.D.

Our stores team up each month with an animal nonprofit in WA state to support their mission. We host them in-store for a special event to help the community get to know these organizations—and sometimes even their adorable animals!

On the event day, we donate 50% of our sales directly to them, plus all checkout round-ups for the entire month. These Charity of the Month grants help many local animal rescues, shelters, foster groups, sanctuaries, and more continue their animal welfare work.

Our first store/donation center location moved to 17633 Hwy 99, Lynnwood, WA 98037 in the summer of 2024. We have been in Lynnwood with a physical location since 2019, and the nonprofit was founded in 2014.

New thrift shop to open in Bartell's site - but they need your donations

Monday, December 22, 2025

Mural at Lynnwood store
Bella's Voice thrift shop is a non-profit dedicated to keeping pets with their families and strengthening the local animal welfare network.

They have had a thrift store in Lynnwood for over 10 years. Last year they moved into a new location in Lynnwood, taking over the building that previously housed Bartells.

It was such a positive move that when they looked to expand into Shoreline, the vacant Bartells store at 185th and Aurora was a natural choice.

They have been working to get the new space set up and hope to open in January.

Donations

They need your donations to fill the shelves.

Come to the back of the Shoreline store at 18420 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline WA 98133 to drop off your gently-used items and meet the new donation attendants. Right now they are on holiday hours as per the flyer.

If you are donating furniture or more than five bags / boxes, they offer a pick up service. See if you qualify here.

Pet Resource Center

The store will include a dedicated Pet Resource Center which supports both individuals and nonprofits.

In Lynnwood, their pet food bank serves over 130 families with pet food weekly. Pet owners are able to come in and pick up food at the store.

They deliver weekly to local food banks.

They have donated over 50,000 lbs of pet food.

The new location will offer plenty of space

Charity of the Month

The Charity of the Month program has supported more than 35 animal nonprofits. The list is here and includes Seattle Area Feline Rescue in Ballinger Village, Old Dog Haven which does an annual event at Cromwell Park, and Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project started by a former Shoreline veterinarian.

Vet Bill Program

The Vet Bill Program provides financial assistance to cover or offset the costs of surgery and emergency vet bills for those whose pets are in urgent or sudden need of serious medical help.

Their outreach programs have raised nearly $300,000 in funds.

Staff and volunteers in the resource center offer assistance in navigating people to the right organizations when they are unable to help.

More information
They need your donations to get started in Shoreline.

12-22-25 Shoreline is not open for shopping. New graphic has hours for donations.

Autumn Upcycled Maker's Market October 18, 2025 at Magpie Thrift

Tuesday, October 7, 2025

New to Shoreline, nonprofit Everly is a partner to Magpie Thrift, now doing business at Shoreline Place in the old Salvation Army space.

Everly was founded alongside Magpie to promote reuse and circular care in our community. They have two main programs:
  1. Their local redistribution program takes additional resources from Magpie Thrift (like food, medical supplies, and unsold clothing) to other nonprofits or mutual aid groups in the area that can use them.
  2. They also have a senior program, where they offer free move-out assistance and decluttering services to Queer seniors in need.

On October 18, 2025 from 11am to 6pm they will hold an upcycled art market at Magpie Thrift 15403 Westminster Way N, Shoreline, WA 98133

All vendors will be selling materials made primarily from secondhand or recycled items, and are not being charged a vending fee to encourage first-timers to join us.

They will have a free kids' craft table throughout the event, stocked with secondhand craft supplies from Magpie. Seattle REconomy will be joining them to help get people enrolled in the Shoreline Tool Library.

The art market will be the first venture for their next program, Everly Events, where they will host free community gatherings that promote creative reuse and accessible sustainability.

We hope that everyone who attends this event will leave knowing that reuse is not only accessible to them but fun, too!

Magpie Thrift at Shoreline Place

Story and Photos by John Boril

Shoreline has a new thrift store. Magpie Thrift recently opened at 15403 Westminster Way North, in the former Salvation Army store near the Town & Country Market.

The Shoreline location joins the original Magpie Store on Capitol Hill. Both feature clothing, furniture and household items.

The store’s website says the company is committed to sustainability and affordable thrifting.

A portion of everything you spend goes to local nonprofits, especially those focusing on helping to teach others about recycling, supporting LGBTQIA+ initiatives, and helping seniors downsize with dignity.

The Shoreline Magpie store also partners with the Shoreline Tool Library. All bike sale proceeds go to the Tool Library’s Bike Shack, which repairs and resells used bikes.

Donated items are accepted at both Magpie locations, and the Shoreline store is currently accepting employment applications for cashiers, donation attendants, and other positions.

Shoreline Lake Forest Park Senior Center Thrift Store is closing - special Going Out Of Business Sale Jan 24-26

Sunday, January 19, 2020

Bargain Corner thrift store to close

The Shoreline Lake Forest Park Senior Center Thrift Store is closing!

We will have a special 'Going out of Business" sale next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25-26, from 10am – 4pm with 75% OFF most merchandise.

Although we are sad to see the Thrift Store go, we are delighted that we are able expand opportunities for a unique wellness center.

Our little Thrift store has been a delightful place for our members to browse and occasionally purchase items or have a convenient location to donate.

Unfortunately, the Thrift Store has never been very profitable and in recent years it has become even less so. Each of the past five or six years the board has wrestled with keeping the thrift store open or closing it.

It was this last year when it because clear that the opportunities to expand our health and wellness services far outweighed the pleasure of having the Thrift Store open. Those opportunities won out and we made the hard decision to close. The start of a new year seemed the most opportune time.

Board Members will be helping out with the sale, so come 'buy' and ask any questions about the new wellness center or express any concerns that you may have.

--Douglas Woods, President of the Board, Shoreline Lake Forest Park Senior Center
