Vendor applications open for the 2nd Annual Greenhouse Winter Market November 14-15, 2026

Thursday, July 9, 2026

It may seem early to be thinking of the holidays just yet, but if you’re a small business creative/maker/retail team, it’s definitely already begun.

Sky Nursery is SO excited to be hosting this new Shoreline Community tradition once again. It was a joy and an honor to be a part of last year's market, where dozens of vendors were able to share unique, handcrafted goods and community members helped gather literal TONS of food and financial support for Hopelink’s vital nonprofit work.

It was, in a word, galvanizing. This year will hopefully be no different and we look forward to seeing you there, in one way or another.

Application is here. If you have questions, please hit up Shoreline Farmers Market , they’re doing the incredible work of weaving together vendors, farmers and food trucks.

About the Organizer: Erin Cox of Field and Forest Crafts

Erin found her life's passion in basketry and wild crafting. Although she has lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years, it wasn’t until she discovered the joy of farming and foraging basketry materials that she truly formed deep ties to this place and a meaningful connection to the land.

Through weaving, Erin has found a new way to explore and appreciate the biodiversity of the Pacific Northwest. She began casually teaching basketry and wild crafting in 2024.

The same year she established a small basketry willow farm in Carnation, Washington, where she invites students to learn, harvest, and engage directly with the materials they weave. In 2025, she opened Field and Forest Crafts and her own private teaching studio in NE Seattle.

Greenhouse Winter Market ended the farmers market season on a high note

Sunday, November 30, 2025

Story and Photos from the Shoreline Farmers Market

What an incredible weekend! We are still buzzing from the success of our first annual Greenhouse Winter Market! This event marked the spectacular close of Shoreline Farmers Market Season 14, and it exceeded every expectation.

More than 50 incredible local small businesses had the opportunity to share their special creations and hearts with our community.

Shoppers voted with their dollars! Many vendors reported record sales, with some even selling out completely, a huge win for our local entrepreneurs!

A massive thank you to our incredible host and event partner, Sky Nursery! They offered a beautiful, warm space and stellar staff support. Magical!

The market’s impact goes far beyond sales. We are thrilled to have supported the vital food access work of Hopelink and their food pantry in two significant ways:
  1. Vendor Fees Donated: All vendor booth fees (kept intentionally low to help incubate small businesses) were donated, raising an amazing $2,760!
  2. Pantry Staples Drive: We asked visitors to bring pantry staples, and wow, did you show up! Together, we donated over 1,100 pounds of food this weekend alone.
We are truly filled with gratitude and joy after this last event of the season. Thank you to every vendor, shopper, volunteer, and staff member who made this possible.

Let this celebration inspire you to know that one small act can make a difference in your community. Small businesses and food access programs continue to need your support year-round.

See you next season!

Shop Local: Sky Nursery has a gift shop - and a coffee shop - and a Maker's Market

Saturday, November 25, 2023

By Diane Hettrick

Sky Nursery has greenhouses and outdoor space full of plants, of course, but they also have a year round gift shop inside with gifts for gardeners. House plants make good gifts and the staff are very knowledgeable.

I once walked in to the indoor plant section and said "I need four different plants for people whose idea of plant care is to dump the remains of their cold coffee in the dirt." The staff person was startled for a moment but then came up with four great selections.

Their Christmas ornaments are varied and they often have entertainment during December. And Christmas trees.

They are located between Aurora and Midvale, just north of 185th.

Saturday, December 2, 2023 they have tool sharpening for $4 cash only from 10am to 2pm, music from Strum ukulele band from 1-2pm, and Heartful Rootz Maker's Market. Keep an eye on their events page.

Heartful Rootz Maker's Market

December 2nd & 3rd 10am-4pm

Shop over 30 vendors offering handmade goodies from local Black, Indigenous and People of the Global Majority artists.

As a special treat, join us each day at 12pm & 2pm for story shares from exceptional featured artists. This is a great opportunity to learn more about their work, stories and motivations, and understand how much it takes to create something truly beautiful by hand.

Heartful Rootz is proud to support both experienced and up-and-coming vendors and creatives.

Sky Nursery class: Carnivorous plants are the secret weapon of indoor gardening

Friday, October 7, 2022

Carnivorous plants are the secret weapon of indoor gardening.

Their ravenous tendencies can be used to actually reduce fungus gnats in your home (or greenhouse), all while offering a striking aesthetic you just can't get with other plants.

Wanna know how to care for these unique little monsters?

Join Sky's very own Charles Young for a free in-person class October 22, 2022 from 12-1pm.

Accompanied by a huge selection of 'carnies,' he'll be taking you through how to help them thrive, whether they're tucked into a bog terrarium or not.

Expect a little bit of Halloween silliness, a lot of information, and a chance to ask all your questions.

If you plan to attend, there is no limit on space, but we thank you for taking the time to RSVP here: https://fb.me/e/rGrbc0Pfl

Terrarium seminar at Sky Sunday
Sunday February 9, 2020 from 1pm – 2:30pm - Terrarium Seminar with Hannah Palm

Learn how to put together a terrarium!

The process starts with figuring out what type is right for your situation: an open one filled with succulents for a sunny location, or the traditional globe or semi-enclosed one, filled with ferns, foliage and other low-light plants.

Hannah will go over how to determine which is best for you, how to put together the layers of gravel, soil, and charcoal for each, and how to choose and arrange your plants and decorative accents.

Finally, she’ll discuss how to care for your terrarium once you’ve made it!

Sky Nursery 18528 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline 98133. 206-546-4851
