Shoreline Farmers Market Director

Saturday, September 12, 2026

The Shoreline Farmers Market sets up shop every Saturday through October from 10am to 2pm at the BikeLink Park 'n Ride 192nd and Aurora selling local produce and goods.

The Park 'n Ride is called "BikeLink" because it has lockers for bicycles. Just make sure you have a basket or a backpack so you can ride your bike to the market and get your purchases home!

The market director, new this year, is Ashley.

Hi everyone, my name is Ashley (they/she), I’m excited to step into the role of Executive Director at the Shoreline Farmers Market.

Ashley grew up in Mount Vernon
I bring nearly a decade of experience in farmers markets, starting on the farm side and growing into market management and programming.

Most recently, I held multiple roles across the Queen Anne Farmers Market and Phinney Ridge Farmers Market, where I worked as both a Market Coordinator and POP (Power of Produce) Coordinator—while continuing my work with a local farm.

That experience gave me a well-rounded perspective on markets from every angle: vendor, operations, and community programming.

I grew up in Mount Vernon—so yes, I’m inherently a huge tulip fan—and that agricultural connection has always shaped who I am. Farmers markets feel like home to me.

When I’m not at the market, you can usually find me at another one, or out in the mountains. I love everything about markets: the berries, the flowers, the people, and the sense of connection they create.

I’m passionate about creating spaces where vendors can thrive and where community members feel welcome and connected.

At the heart of my work is a strong belief that access to fresh, local food is a right. I’m committed to expanding food access and ensuring the Shoreline Farmers Market continues to serve and reflect the needs of its community.

A cold and wet start to the day didn't discourage the Chamber of Commerce, Shoreline councilmembers or the many vendors from a joyful opening to the Shoreline Farmers Market.

Within a half hour the sun was shining and more people were coming in.

The most popular booth was the bakery - just the thing for a chilly start to the day.

Shoreline Farmers Market launches 15th Anniversary Season with Opening Day Celebration and Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, June 6, 2026

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Season 15 of connecting the local food system through
fresh offerings and community gathering.

The Shoreline Farmers Market Association proudly announces the opening of its landmark 15th anniversary season on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Running from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Shoreline Bikelink Park and Ride, 192nd & Aurora, Opening Day marks a decade and a half of connecting neighborhood families directly with regional agricultural producers, local artisans, and community experiences.

To celebrate this major milestone, a special opening welcome and ribbon cutting will take place at 9:55am right next to the central Information Booth. Hosted in partnership with the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, the event will welcome neighborhood leaders, organizers, and local partners to officially ring in the 2026 peak summer season.

"As we step into our 15th season in the same location as last year, we want to remind our community that this space belongs to absolutely everyone," said Laura Buzard, Board President and long-time Shoreline resident.
"Whether you attend every single week, vend your own homegrown products, or have never stepped foot inside the market before, this is your market. It is a shared backyard built by and for Shoreline."

Driven by Three Mission Pillars

As a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the market grounds its weekly operations in three fundamental organizational pillars designed to create long-term local impact:

Food Access and Equity: Ensuring that fresh, wholesome, and regionally grown food remains affordable and available to all community members through robust food assistance matching partnerships.

Small Business Incubation: Providing an accessible, supportive economic launchpad for regional farmers, food producers, and local artisans to test concepts, scale operations, and build thriving independent local businesses.

Community Education: Fostering neighborhood connection and agricultural awareness through free community events, live musical showcases, and dedicated youth programming.

Poster artist Bee Fischer will be on hand to sign her posters,
which are being sold as a market fundraiser.

Special 15th Anniversary Commemorative Poster Signing

Adding to the opening day excitement, local artist Bee Fischer, who was commissioned to illustrate the market's special 15th anniversary poster, will be in attendance.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet the artist and have their posters personally signed at the market.

These colorful posters will be available for purchase, serving as a vital fundraiser for the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to directly support its ongoing community mission.

“I feel incredibly honored to lead this community into its 15th season.
"Farmers markets are so much more than outdoor grocery stores; they are places of community connection and care for everyone, no matter where you come from," noted Ashley Sullivan, Market Director.
"Shoreline Farmers Market is known for its inclusive and welcoming nature. If you’re looking for a place to get involved or make a difference, farmers markets are a great place to start. You are welcome here, and we hope to meet you soon!”

Pack the Park and the Pantries May 9, 2026

Thursday, April 30, 2026

By Rob Oxford

Children seldom realize how difficult it can be for parents to feed their families. Especially a single parent on a tight budget. It’s hardly a topic discussed openly at the dinner table and never on the playground. It's definitely not something of which a parent is particularly proud. Instead, a parent suffers in silence. Worrying about where their child’s next meal will come from.

With food prices constantly on the rise and income barely keeping pace with inflation, “Food Insecurity” is of real concern to many in our community. Affecting 13.7% of U.S. Households in 2024.

Driven by poverty, unemployment and high living costs, Food Insecurity causes severe health issues and as indicated above, mental strain. Given the current socio economic climate in our country, now is an extremely difficult time for many.

However, now is also the perfect time to help.

Coming up May 9, 2026 join your fellow Super Heroes at Animal Acres Park for “Pack the Park”. A 5K Fun Run and Walk.

Pack The Park 5k/Fun Run 2026

For the past 10 years, “Pack the Park” has raised nearly $35,000 to help fight food insecurity in the Shoreline and Lake Forest Park Communities.

It supports programs such as The Shoreline School District's “Angel Fund” which helps pay negative meal balances for students in need and the Third Place Commons Farmers Market Bucks.

The LFP Farmers Market has been a vibrant part of the local community for nearly two decades.

It opens each year on Mother’s Day in the Town Center parking lot adjacent to the Lake Forest Park City Hall at 17425 Ballinger Way NE.

The Market offers farm-fresh produce, seasonal fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, pasta, baked goods, wine and hard cider, hot foods, sweet treats and savory snacks.

Their “Market Bucks” offers the opportunity for our neighbors who need it most to benefit from the fresh, healthy foods available from the Market's many vendors.

The hours of operation are 10am – 2pm each Sunday through October and this writer suggests getting there early for the best selection.

Farmers Market - Third Place Commons

Whether you choose to run, walk or like me prefer a more stationary approach to living, lace up your running shoes or grab a camping chair and join us May 9th for "Pack the Park." You WILL make a difference.

2025 Pack the Park

Volunteers are always needed and there can be no better way to meet or reconnect with like-minded neighbors concerned with the betterment of our community.

A portion of every registration and 100% of all donations go to support the programs mentioned above.

Let's "Pack the Park".
