Long-term sidewalk closure in front of Kenmore Park-and-Ride

Starting Monday, September 28, 2026 Sound Transit will close the sidewalk in front of the Kenmore Park-and-Ride’s east parking lot for Stride S3 Line construction. 

Crews will work Monday through Friday, 6am–3pm. Crews need to close the sidewalk in front of the east parking lot to complete a variety of construction activities including utility, roadway improvements, and building a landscaping strip.

The closure is expected to last through the end of the year.

Pedestrians must follow the detour routes 24/7 to get around the sidewalk closure (see map).

Eastbound pedestrians:

• Pedestrians will be able to access the Kenmore Park-and-Ride and bus stops via the northern sidewalk and will not need to follow the detour.
• Pedestrians looking to access anything east of the Kenmore Park-and-Ride will detour via 73rd Ave NE and SR 522 (Bothell Way NE) to get to the Burke-Gilman Trail, then return via 77th Ave NE.

Westbound pedestrians:

• Pedestrians looking to access the Kenmore Park-and-Ride or anything west of it will need to detour via 77th Ave NE and SR 522 (Bothell Way NE) to get to the Burke-Gilman Trail, then return via 73rd Ave NE.

The Kenmore Park-and-Ride will remain open and accessible. The King County Metro bus stop next to the work zone is not affected by the work. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should follow posted signs and plan for extra travel time.
