Shorewood Boys Tennis Season Preview 2026

WIAA 3A State Team Championship Trophy 2025-26

The Shorewood Boys tennis team starts their Fall 2026 season as the defending Wesco South, District 1 and WIAA State 3A Champions. 

The team has many talented players returning and moving up from an undefeated JV championship team.

Impact players that will add to the team are junior Drew Boyd, sophomore Ethan Dong, senior captain Reid Bley, junior Jacob Mignogna, junior, Zachary Gordon, and newcomers freshman Isaac Binz, sophomore John Chalcraft, sophomore Levi Vikstrom, sophomore Sam Barnes, junior Nico Martin, senior Elliott Marter and senior Sawyer Lunak.

The season starts September 2nd with the team traveling to play Snohomish, last years Wesco North Champions. September 3rd Shorewood will host the defending WIAA 4A State Champions Jackson. 

This match will be featuring two state championship teams and state tournament qualifiers on both teams. Other tough matches this season will test and provide great challenges are against Bellevue, Edmonds Woodway, Shorecrest, Kamiak, Curtis of Tacoma and Overtake school of Seattle.

Coach Arnie Moreno says “ The Jackson match is a must see match for watching high performance level high school matches. This type of match between two state tournament champions is rare. “

Sanchez placed 7th in the WIAA State tournament in singles and Johnson qualified for the state tournament after placing second in the District 1 doubles final, with his now graduated team mate Zack Binz.

Coach Moreno urges the Shoreline tennis community to come and support Shorewood in this great matchup. This team has high expectations and Coach Moreno feels that they are in the top five in the state and that they are ready for the challenge.
