New 1 Line station on NE 130th St has officially been named Pinehurst Station

After engaging with the community and conducting an internal station name evaluation, “Pinehurst Station” emerged as the top choice, and the name was approved by the Sound Transit Board.

Starting in 2026, Pinehurst Station will be here to serve the growing neighborhood between Northgate and Shoreline South/148th Street stations. 

The project will feature lovely pedestrian and bicycle paths, convenient bus stops at the 130th/5th Avenue intersection, a special paratransit drop-off area, a spot for passenger vehicle drop-offs, and captivating station artwork developed by Seattle-based artist, Romson Bustillo.
