Burke Gilman Trail closure October 2 - November 7, 2025

Tuesday, September 23, 2025

From October 2 - November 7, 2025, King County Parks contractors will be implementing intersection improvements including ADA accessible warning surfaces, pavement markings, and bollard removals along the Burke Gilman Trail in Lake Forest Park from Ballinger Way down to 147th Ave.

A detour route with the trail intersection at Beach Drive will be open during construction.

All other trail intersections along the trail will remain open for trail users to pass around the work sites during construction.

The amount of construction going on is bonkers to me. It’s hard to get from point A to point B as it is. Throw in construction and it makes it worse. In addition, cities are hemorrhaging money. In the double red, yet we fund these construction projects and want a pool. Makes no sense.

It looks like they are making great progress! Will they be done early?
