Pool demolition underway -- expected to be down by end of next week

The City of Shoreline is working with the School District on possible uses for the site, which may include constructing a picnic shelter. The City received a State Department of Commerce grant last year for a picnic shelter and first choice would be the former pool site.
The pool property is adjacent to Shoreline Park, two soccer fields, and tennis courts. There are already restrooms and concrete walkways.
Last year, with the pool closed, Shorewood girls' swim team was able to hold their practices and meets at the outdoor, privately owned Innis Arden pool. Shorecrest girls' held their practices and meets at the outdoor, privately owned Sheridan Beach pool.
Both dive teams trained at Mariner High School in Everett.

Within this very article you have shown a use the property should be developed into, and that is another pool. Shoreline school swim teams should not have to practice outside, they should not have to go to another city to train. Senior citizens should not have to drive to Lynnwood pool for water aerobics & river walking. This should all happen in Shoreline. Next time have the bond voted on for its merits, not add parks and other projects to it. We don't need a picnic shelter, we need an up to date pool.
please be sure to plant grass that needs to be treated with weed control and take more water than native plants would need - don't think outside the box and consider a wild flower field that would sustain birds and insects and bees - be sure to make it the boring costly landscape that will keep lots of you employed on my (tax) payroll.
