Shoreline Rotary partners with South Everett / Mukilteo Rotarians to support girls' home in Mazatlán

For the past three years, Shoreline Rotary in Rotary District 5030 and South Everett/Mukilteo Rotary in Rotary District 5050 have worked together to support FloreSer Girls Home in Mazatlán, Mexico. Their shared efforts are helping create a safe and encouraging environment where girls can learn, build confidence and prepare for more independent futures.

FloreSer serves girls and young women who have faced difficult or vulnerable circumstances. In addition to providing a secure home, the organization surrounds them with caring adults, educational opportunities and experiences that help them discover their abilities and imagine new possibilities for their lives.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is its multi-District reach. Rotarians from two neighboring Rotary Districts have contributed financial support, service and personal involvement, responding to needs identified by FloreSer and building a relationship that reaches far beyond any single project. 

In one year, Lake Forest Park Rotary and University District Rotary Club also joined in supporting FloreSer projects.

A Multi-District Partnership in Action 

Shoreline and South Everett/Mukilteo Rotarians have worked alongside FloreSer leaders and residents on improvements to the home. Service visits have included painting and other practical work, giving Rotarians an opportunity to listen, learn and see firsthand how thoughtful improvements can strengthen daily life for the girls.

The projects have grown from basic improvements to investments in education, mental-health support, recreation and everyday living. Together, they reflect a simple goal: help FloreSer provide not only a safe home, but a place where girls can learn, grow, develop confidence and prepare for the future.

Together, the clubs have supported a computer lab, English education, psychological counseling, music lessons, bathroom and laundry improvements, an outdoor eating and cooking area, and a sports court with equipment for multiple activities.
