Road work on NE 145th will close lanes between I-5 and Lake City Way / Bothell Way

Beginning as early as September 21, 2026 road work will start on the NE 145th St section of the Stride S3 project, and crews will regularly close lanes on NE 145th St in three different work zones (see map for details):

• Work zone 1: NE 145th Street between 5th Ave NE and 10th Ave NE.
• Work zone 2: NE 145th St between slightly west of 12th Ave NE and 17th Ave NE.
• Work zone 3: NE 145th St between 28th Ave NE and slightly east of SR 522 (Bothell Way).

Crews need these lane closures to safely complete a variety of construction tasks, including utility work, roadway widening, other roadway enhancements, water retention vault work, sidewalk improvements, and station-related construction. 

These closures will occur at different times throughout construction and will not be in place 24/7. Please see attached map for work zone locations. NE 145th St will remain open to traffic. Crews may close turn lanes, but drivers will still be able to turn on and off the roadway.

Crews will work from 9am through 5:30pm Monday–Friday. Sound Transit will notify the public separately about any work happening outside of these hours. Traffic patterns will change during construction. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should follow posted signs and directions from flaggers and plan extra travel time.
