Shorewood boys take 4-1 Wesco 3A record into Thursday home game with Glacier Peak

The Shorewood boys’ basketball team takes a 4-1 Western Conference 3A division record (5-1 overall) into a Thursday home game with Glacier Peak after victories over Marysville Getchell Friday and Everett Tuesday.
Shorewood and Glacier Peak (4-2, 5-3) meet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Shorewood, with junior varsity teams from the two schools meeting at 5:40 and “C” teams playing at 3:45.
In Shorewood’s 62-38 home victory over Marysville-Getchell Friday, Dec. 23, the Thunderbirds led 11-8 after the first quarter, 30-16 at halftime and 48-28 after three quarters before coasting to victory in the final period. Senior forward Semir Kadiric led the T-birds with 14 points, followed by Gage Carroll with 13. Josh Hawkinson and Ben Andrews each added 12. The Shorewood junior varsity defeated Marysville Getchell, 75-50, and the Thunderbird “C” team won, 70-28.
In Shorewood’s 65-47 victory at Everett Tuesday, the Thunderbirds led the Seagulls 14-12 after the first quarter, 29-21 at halftime and 45-34 after three quarters before expanding the lead in the final period,
Junior center Hawkinson led the T-birds with 19 points, followed by Kadiric with 14, Andrews with 12 and Carroll with 11. Hawkinson has scored 79 points in four games, for an average of 19.8 points per game. Andrews has scored 79 in six games for an average of 13.2.
