A Ridgecrest resident was making a left turn to NE 174th on Friday evening July 1, 2022 when a southbound Ford Escort hit the northbound turning car.

The southbound car flipped upside down and landed across the sidewalk. The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken by the Shoreline Medic unit to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The passenger in the same car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital by medics.

Two people in the Ridgecrest vehicle were taken by aid car to a local hospital.

At least one person from silver sedan is home from the hospital late on Friday. Witness cited excessive speed as a factor - which begs the question - what will it take to get some traffic-calming or even (!) citations on our streets that are only going to get more traffic with the infill of housing and light rail stations ?

I wonder when/if I will ever see anyone actually cited for speeding on the streets around here? Speed limit lowered on 175th and 15th. Did anyone let the drivers know? 10th has become a racetrack since 15th was made one direction each way. 8th is similarly used to speed for those hoping to avoid the "calming" measures on 5th. Has anyone ever received a citation for driving over the 25 mph limit in North City? More housing and light rail stations in the area will only make a bad situation worse. And for those that don't like the idea just remember - paying a fine for an infraction is a voluntary form of taxation. If you don't want to pay the "tax", then follow the law. If Shoreline would enforce traffic laws we could all pay fewer taxes on everything else.

I doubt they will enforce the speed limit. Someone drove through a stop sign, sped across 4 lanes of traffic, a sidewalk, a fence and hit our house causing damage. The Shoreline police department only gave the reckless driver a citation for failing to stop at the stop sign. No punishment whatsoever.

I was the witness that saw this whole thing happen. I'm on here looking for updates on everyone. Do you have a current article with updates?

Fire, police, medical facilities do not release that information.

I'm just talking like an update on whether anyone died. I know the driver was in pretty rough condition. Usually updates like that come out a bit later if they happen.

Thanks.
