University of Washington alum Jean Smart made Emmy's history Monday night with her fifth consecutive win for “Hacks” — becoming the first person to win an Emmy for every season of a series. Her eighth Emmy also ties the record for the most ever won by a performer .

And if you are wondering what this has to do with Shoreline -- she was our favorite actress for the several seasons she was at the old Intiman Theatre. It was a tiny, historical building underneath freeway ramps.
When they staged productions onto the thrust stage, she would literally be just a few feet from our second row seats (there were only five rows!)
The theatre had previously been a bordello. The stage was where the girls performed. The steep stairway to the upper floor still had a swing where a scantily clad girl would welcome customers upstairs where the "cribs" were.
Volunteering (I spent several years leading the volunteer group, Standby) opens some very interesting doors.
