League of Women Voters of Snohomish County Invites You to Celebrate Constitution Day

Wednesday, September 2, 2026

The League of Women Voters of Snohomish County is hosting seven events across the county the week of September 17-24 to celebrate the 239th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. We are also celebrating the Bill of Rights, which was signed in 1789.

Each event invites the public to participate by listening to or reading the words of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

“Hearing different voices -- voices of your neighbors and community members -- read the words of these founding documents is powerful,” League president Brenda Mann Harrison said.

This is the second year LWVSC is hosting Constitution Day Community Readings. Because of the overwhelming positive response to last year’s events, organizations throughout Snohomish County are supporting these public readings as co-hosts.

At each event, you can pick up a free pocket copy of the Constitution, mingle with your neighbors and learn about the organizations supporting the events.

“Please Join us for this unique experience and invite others!” Harrison urged.

No registration is required. The seven events follow:
