Wall of cloud came in Thursday night

Talk about an abrupt change in the weather. The blue in the photo is a solid bank of cloud coming in over the Olympics on Thursday evening, September 10, 2026.

It must have been fairly well-behaved. I didn't receive notices about Armageddon and everything still seems to be standing.

A reader wistfully commented that we never publish photos over the Cascades. If anyone has a view and a camera, please send photos. I asked Mike Remarcke and he helpfully sent a photo of a solid stand of trees where he used to have a view.

The top of the water tower would be a terrific vantage point. The water district was willing but their attorney nixed it. The roof of Shorecrest High School would also be a great vantage point, if anyone is authorized to be up there with a camera.
