Join artist Renee Plevy to learn drawing & painting in Gouache (opaque watercolor)

In this class you will learn how to use this unique water based opaque paint which has been used by illustrators for years, as well as being extremely portable for home use or "Plein Aire" outdoor painting. 

Artist Renee Plevy will start with the basics so that you will have the tools to paint whatever you desire in the future in whatever medium you choose. Learn drawing basics, positive negative space, shadows, and more before moving on to color values, the color wheel, color theory and how to set up your palette, choose paints, brushes, etc. 

Learn how to avoid the most common mistakes and be on your way to create beautiful personal paintings for your home or gifts.

Renée Plevy is an internationally recognized portrait artist with over 40 years of experience capturing the essence of people and pets through museum-quality oil paintings. 

Her work has been featured in over 65 exhibitions and galleries, including a one-woman museum show at the Paterson Museum, and she has received numerous accolades — among them, “Artist of the Year” from The Bloomfield Art League and First Prize from the Boca Raton Museum Artist’s Guild.

Renée’s portraits are more than art — they are legacy pieces. Commissioned by clients across the U.S. and abroad, her paintings now reside in private homes, corporate offices and international collections. She loves to work with a variety of mediums, but especially gouache opaque watercolor paints.
