The LFP Climate Hub Mural Expands

Monday, October 5, 2026

Walk into the LFP Climate Hub and you will find salmon swimming upstream, leaping out of the water, river otters, a heron, turtle, all emerging out of a new mural.

The mural is almost complete. Over 50 people came to paint this past Sunday morning, including children and their parents, local artists, and many others. The mural is a reminder of the environment and how important it is to us in providing fresh water, shade for humans and for fish, animals, trees and other plants.

Local artists donate hours of their time to create the mural that has redefined the Climate Hub corner of the LFP Commons. Debbie Tamassio, the owner of the Red Sky Gallery in Lake Forest Park, created the design and Staci Adman created the outline on the wall that guided the painting phase. Numbers in the outline represented the 12 colors of the mural and members of the community painted by numbers.

The LFP Climate Hub is a new nonprofit organization. The focus of the LFP Climate Hub is education and action to reduce emissions, sustain our natural environment and build a sustainable and resilient community.

The next LFP Climate Hub event is a Community Conversation.

Save the date October 25, 2026, 4-6pm at Third Place Commons stage (17171 Bothell Way NE). This Climate Hub Community Conversation will share the LFP Salmon Story: Past, Present and Future. The Conversation will explore the impact of climate change on salmon, the story of salmon in our streams and how to get involved in efforts to improve salmon habitats.
