King County Council: Where should our garbage go next?

King County wants your input on how our region should handle garbage in the future. Public comment is open October 6 through November 20, 2026.

The Cedar Hills landfill is almost full. The County is considering three long-term options: sending garbage to other landfills, building a waste-to-energy facility, or using a combination of both.
