Report from the Mayor: LFP City Council Special Meeting/ Dinner, Jan 6, 2012

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

From the Office of the LFP Mayor

The Lake Forest Park City Council, Mayor Mary Jane Goss and Interim City Administrator Bob Jean kicked off the new year with an informal dinner meeting at City Hall with lasagna, caesar salad and bread from Costco.

In the spirit of consideration for those relying on the internet for notification for this particular meeting and the topics posted on the Proposed Agenda, and in light of other considerations expressed, those present chose to narrow the Proposed Agenda to items as follows:

  • A discussion of the nuts and bolts of the Council Retreat (ie time, dates and invited guests) and not the specific agenda or goals. This discussion included the selection of a retreat facilitator.
  • An informal "get to know each other" exercise was conducted with those present sharing their individual views on the topics of what would be different and what would be the same in Lake Forest Park 20 years into the future.
  • There was also general discussion about the selection of a recruiting firm for the selection of a new City Administrator.·

The meeting adjourned at 9:15.
