Obituary: Christine "Chris" Croft

Monday, January 9, 2012

Christine Croft, a math and social studies teacher at Kellogg for 15 years, passed away January 4, 2012 at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer. She carried herself with grace and poise during each day of this journey.

"Christine will be remembered with love by the Kellogg staff and our families as a kind and thoughtful person, dedicated to teaching and caring for the children in her classroom. Although she was unable to return to the classroom this fall because of her illness, she has enriched the lives of countless Kellogg students and their families."

Christine had taught at Kellogg since 1997. She first joined the Shoreline School District as a substitute teacher in 1984, then taught at Lake Forest Park, and at Briarcrest and North City in the Highly Capable Program. She also served on District committees, including most recently the curriculum adoptions for elementary and high school math.

A member of St. Mark's parish, she sang in the church choir for several years.

Christine was a 1969 graduate of Shorecrest. She is survived by her sons, Adam, Jacob (Dana) and Aaron, granddaughter Rylan, step-daughter Malyn and step-granddaughters Emma, Jane, and Bridget, siblings Mark, Michele, Susan, Roberta, and John.

A memorial service for Chris will be held on Friday, January 13 at 11am at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave North, Seattle.
