Tent City under snow and due to move Saturday

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, current host to Tent City #3, has opened its basement overnight for residents of Tent City #3 to spend the night out of the cold. During the day, the main floor of the church serves as a cold weather respite area.

If you would like to help:
  • Donate by check to: Greater Seattle Cares PO Box 77815 Seattle WA 98177-0815, or by PayPal 
  • Material goods donations go to Greater Seattle Cares (here's the list of items needed) and they deliver directly to the camp at Prince of Peace Church, 14514 20th Ave NE, Shoreline WA 98155.
  • Camp needs during these cold months: blankets, tarps, warm clothes (especially socks and shoes), toiletries, non-perishable foods that especially those that can be heated in the microwave.
  • If you can provide hot meals, contact Liz Fenn at 425-698-5581 or check the Greater Seattle Cares calendar online.
Tent City #3 will be at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 14514 20th Avenue NE, Shoreline, WA 98155 until Saturday January 21st. Then they will need donations of moving supplies (see list)

I live in Seattle from tent city on 143rd, I dont like the drug use on our street or the lack of notification of tent city coming. Doesnt Shoreline care about the whole community.

Dear Anonymous -

Tent City has a strict No Drugs / No Alcohol policy, and in my visits to Tent City, I've never seen any illegal behavior.

Additionally, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church notified all residents within a certain radius before Tent City arrived and held a public forum for neighbors to express concerns. The handful of folks who showed up were all in support of Tent City being part of our neighborhood. We apologize if we missed you.
