Chris Carwithen plays George Bailey
and everyone else!
Aurora Theatre Company presents "THIS WONDERFUL LIFE" November 12-28 at the Firdale Village Theatre.
One wonderful actor plays 36 wonderful characters in a clever and loving adaptation of the classic Frank Capra film, "It's a Wonderful Life."

Start the holidays with this exciting re-imagined version of the classic film presented by Aurora Theatre Company. Regarded as a holiday classic around the world, Frank Capra’s film “It’s a Wonderful Life” is based on Phillip Van Doren Stern’s 1939 short story “The Greatest Gift.” The film was released in 1946 starring Jimmy Stewart and the rest is cinematic history.

The story unfolds on Christmas Eve when George Bailey fears that he has failed his family, his friends and his community. In despair, he considers suicide until Clarence, a dotty angel-in-waiting, shows him how bleak the world would have been if he’d never lived. The story of George Bailey’s journey from frustration to despair to understanding and happiness is one that celebrates the American ideal of community. The way to find value in this world as individuals is by looking more closely at the people who pass through our lives: our family, our friends, our town.

This one man tour-de-force production offers a new theatrical twist on this beloved holiday tale. In addition to playing all the people in Bedford Falls, actor Chris Carwithen provides amusing commentary on George Bailey’s journey to discover that the actions of one person really can make a difference in the world. This humorous adaptation celebrates the warmth of the season and the belief that hard work, fair play and love of one’s family and community it truly its own “wonderful” reward.

With a script by Steve Murray and directed by Scott Charles Francis, the show lasts approximately 80 minutes, with no intermission. ATC's first non-summer/non-musical production will take place at Firdale Village Theatre- an intimate 90 seat theatre - just across the street from Shoreline in Edmonds.

Aurora Theatre Company will be collecting non-perishable food items at each performance of "This Wonderful Life." These items will be donated to Food Lifeline. Please consider bringing your donations when you attend your performance.

November 12-28, 2015 Thursday – Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Saturday November 28 at 2:00pm. No performance on Thanksgiving.
