46th Democrats to consider recommendations for County Council position

Saturday, December 8, 2012

The 46th District Democrats will be considering their recommendations for the interim replacement for Bob Ferguson on the King County Council at their meeting on Thursday, December 13, 2012
at 7pm, Olympic View Elementary School NE 95th St. and 8th Ave NE.

Ferguson is the newly-elected State Attorney General and will vacate his Council seat as of January 16, 2013. The King County Executive will forward three names out of the 13 applicants and the County Council has up to 60 days to choose a successor to fill the position until the next general election in November 2013.

The 46th Dems have decided not to make an Endorsement, but rather to indicate a recommendation on one or more of the candidates, with the notation that the recommendation only applies to the interim position and does not carry over into the general election.

The 13 applicants have already been winnowed down to the seven candidates who filled out and returned the questionnaire:
  1. Rod Dembowski
  2. Will Hall
  3. Cindy Ryu
  4. Keith Scully
  5. Sarajane Siegfriedt
  6. Chuck Sloane
  7. Naomi Wilson
Their questionnaires are available for study here.
