Shorewood number one singles Hunter Nelson played Edmonds-Woodway’s Youngha Kim in a hard fought three set match and lost his first match of the season. The tennis match pitted two long time friendly rivals from the old WESCO 4A South division.

Edmonds-Woodway won the non-conference match 7-0. They are considered to be a contender in the new WESCO 4A league. Shorewood remains 2-0 in WESCO 3A and 2-1 overall record.

Shorewood hosts Oak Harbor in a league match Monday September 13.

Singles--Youngha Kim (E-W) def. Hunter Nelson 3-6, 6-2, 6-2; Younghan Kim (E-W) def. Justin Oh 6-3, 6-2; Brandon Bulaclac (E-W) def. Miles Jamieson 6-3, 6-0; Dylan Merrill (E-W) def. Trevor Cronin 6-3, 6-1. Doubles--Ian Southcote-Want-Louis Phan (E-W) def. Isaac Brengelman-Ellis Miyaoka 7-5, 6-1; Gabe Heckt-Matt Thorton (E-W) def. Liam Keelbler-Eric Berquist 6-7 (1-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-4; Drew Corwin-Jason Major (E-W) def. Evan Strandberg-Matt Buswell 6-1, 6-3. Records--Edmonds-Woodway 2-1 overall. Shorewood 2-1.
