Kick off event Tuesday for David Chen, Shoreline Council candidate

Advocate for Families Facing Homelessness and Candidate for Shoreline City Council David Chen to Host Campaign Kickoff

Featuring Democratic State Senator Jesse Salomon, Democratic State Representative Cindy Ryu, former Shoreline Mayor Shari Winstead, and Executive Director of Vision House, Melissa Gehrig

Chen’s election campaign will kick off Tuesday in Shoreline. Chen, a 34 year-old father of three, community volunteer, and local attorney announced his campaign last month. 

His priorities for the city include building on his experience as a former board member of Vision House — a housing non-profit in Shoreline that successfully moved hundreds of single parents and their children from homelessness to permanent housing — to implement new strategies for combating homelessness; strategic development of community and commercial spaces; and safety and accessible neighborhoods. 

He is challenging Deputy Mayor Doris McConnell for Shoreline City Council Position 4. Former Mayor Shari Winstead will kick-off the Tuesday event which is expected to draw a crowd of volunteers and supporters from across the city.
