Access busses catch on fire in Ridgecrest parking lot

According to Shoreline Fire, at approximately 8:45pm on Wednesday evening, May 15, 2019, an Access bus parked in the lot at NE 165th St and 5th NE caught fire.

The bus was in the Access parking lot.

The fire spread to another bus in the lot.

Impressive electrical sparking occurred. 

Extinguishers and water were used to put out the fire.

There were no injuries.

Unrelated to the fire, but that site is such an eyesore. I wish there was something else there, like housing, or a park.

Maybe an eyesore...but I'll take that over MDU or more housing...
Something more community focused would be great though.

It would be perfect for the Rat City Roller Derby folks...too bad the Access bus folks are keeping it in use (even though I strongly support Access) - I just really want to see the roller derby folks find a new local site. It has been nothing but good for my students who have participated.
