Future educators receive ADK scholarships

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Alpha Delta, local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, the international fraternal organization of women educators, is pleased to announce the awarding of two scholarships.

Dedicated to excellence in education, altruism, and world understanding, Alpha Delta offers scholarship money to deserving local students planning to choose education as a career.

This year’s recipients are Meghan Trainer and Vanessa Delgado.

Meghan Trainer
Meghan Trainer of Shorecrest High School is an accomplished dancer, a high-achieving scholar, and an enthusiastic young woman who, through her involvement as a camp counselor, childcare provider, Sunday School teacher, and Link Crew leader, learned early in life how passionate she is about education and children.

Meghan plans to pursue a degree in elementary education at Whitworth University in Spokane.

Vanessa Delgado

Vanessa Delgado of Shorewood High School is a personable, hard-working individual who has already used her positive attitude, bilingual abilities and experiences in camp counseling and childcare to assist her peers as a classroom volunteer.

She is an excellent role model and motivator who wants to share with others what her teachers have given to her.

Vanessa is deciding between Everett Community College and Cascadia College where she will begin her study toward a degree in elementary education.
