La Madonnara creates chalk art in Shoreline as part of Arts al Fresco

Gabrielle Abbott is internationally known as “La Madonnara”, an Italian Renaissance word meaning a female chalk artist or street painter.

Gabrielle has participated in many of the largest art festivals around the world.

She is also an internationally exhibited muralist and fine artist. In 2014 Gabrielle completed a Masters Program in Fine Arts from the University of The Arts, London.

On Thursday, she used that talent to create a chalk painting on the Interurban Trail in front of City Hall.

By 2pm, she had added color to the drawing.



By 4pm she was putting the finishing touches. The painting runs along "Sculpture Walk" with new installations for the Arts al Fresco celebration. The walk is north of 175th, between Aurora and Midvale.
