The life of B.K.S. Iyengar will be honored
at Tree House Yoga in North City Friday

In September, Tree House Iyengar Yoga is moving from its location of 14 years in North City, 18021 15th Avenue NE, Shoreline, WA 98155 a new studio on Ballinger and 19th. But before they pack up they are hosting two important events for the yoga community.

Friday, August 22 at 7pm the public is invited to a memorial and tribute to B.K.S. Iyengar, the founder of Iyengar Yoga who died at age 95 on August 20th. There will be quiet practice, music, candle lighting, stories, and remembrances of Mr. Iyengar, his life, and contributions to the yoga world and the world at large.

Sunday, August 24 at 1pm will be The Last Class, a farewell to the current studio.  To be taught by 6 of the Tree House instructors, this class is open to anyone who has taken a class at the studio. All proceeds from the donation only class will go to offset the cost of moving.  The class will be followed by refreshments and the beginning of packing up.

Pat Musburger, Director of Tree House, acknowledges that the move is bittersweet. “This has been a warm and welcoming place for a long time with many great memories. But with the passing of Mr. Iyengar the time seems even more right for a change. Our new location opens us to more of the community and a chance to share Mr. Iyengar’s teaching and sense of giving back to the world."
