Shorecrest opens district soccer play at Oak Harbor Saturday after Wednesday home victory over Mountlake Terrace

The Shorecrest boys' soccer team opens play in the Northwest District 3A tournament at Oak Harbor Saturday after the Scots finished the regular season with a 2-0 home victory over Mountlake Terrace Wednesday.

Shorecrest and Oak Harbor meet at 2pm Saturday at Oak Harbor High School, with the winner advancing to a Tuesday semifinal game at Shoreline Stadium against the winner of a Saturday first-round game between Shorewood and Marysville-Pilchuck. Losers of the two Saturday games meet in an elimination game Tuesday.

Shorecrest, the No. 3 team from the Wesco 3A South takes an 8-2-3 Wesco 3A record (10-3-3 overall into the game at Wesco 3A North No. 2 Oak Harbor (6-6-1, 7--8-1).

In Shorecrest's 2-0 home victory over Mountlake Terrace, Axel Wickstrom and Sam Schober scored goals for Shorecrest; Alex Chang and Morgan West had assists; and David Miller recotded the shutout in goal.

The Shorecrest junior varsity played a 0-0 tie with Mountlake Terrace Wednesday to finish its season with a 9-1-3 Wesco 3A record (12-1-3).
