Shorecrest music students at state competition

Eleanor Legault, violin, and Adam Weiss, viola


Shorecrest High School music department was well represented at the Washington Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble state competition held last weekend in Ellensburg. To qualify, each music student received a top ranking in the  Sno-King district Solo/Ensemble competition held last February. Winners from 21 state districts performed and competed before a panel of adjudicators.


David Miller, percussion, took top honors in timpani, and second place in snare drum and mallets.


Other state qualifiers from Shorecrest in the solo category:

  • Eric Mulhern on both guitar and bass clarinet, finishing 3rd place on bass clarinet
  • Erin Anderson, clarinet
  • Carter Osborne, trumpet
  • Nathaniel Laviste, oboe
  • Eleanor Legault, violin
  • Adam Weiss, viola

Erin Anderson and Andrew Horton qualified in the Ensemble division performing a clarinet duo.
