Shorecrest takes 23-17 Rotary Cup football victory over Shorewood

Shorecrest won the Rotary Cup football game over Shorewood, 23-17, Friday.

The victory gives the Scots a 1-2 Western Conference 3A South record (2-4 overall). Shorewood has a 0-2 Wesco 3A record (1-5 overall).

Shorecrest came from behind a 17-7 Shorewood lead with a field goal in the third quarter and 13 points on two Keegan Small touchdowns in the final quarter.

Small rushed for 86 yards including the go-ahead score with 2:30 left. Nik Hendricks made a game-sealing interception at midfield to stop the Thunderbirds' last drive. Levy Diaz had 101 yards on the ground and one score for Shorewood.

Shorecrest completes its Wesco 3A South schedule with a home game with Mountlake Terrace Friday, Oct. 12, at Shoreline Stadium. Shorewood plays at the same time at Glacier Peak.
