City of Kenmore to Temporarily Close a Portion of NE 181st Street on July 9 for Special Event

The King County Library System is celebrating the opening of the new Kenmore Library with a ribbon-cutting celebration and open house on Saturday, July 9, 9:30 am at the site of the new library, 6531 NE 181st Street.

Due to the anticipated number of attendees, the City of Kenmore will close a portion of NE 181st Street in front of the Library from 9 am to approximately 10:30 am for the safety of the public. Businesses that are located directly west of the new Library can be accessed from NE 181st Street east of 65th Ave NE, but the street will be closed from the Library entry to 67th Ave NE (see attached map).

The City encourages people attending the event to park at Kenmore Village and enter the parking lot from 68th Ave NE and NE 181st Street. Please respect the businesses that are nearby and avoid using any parking reserved or normally used by these businesses. The City will have staff available to direct traffic as necessary and appropriate signage to guide traffic movement.
