Family escapes burning home in LFP - fire fighter injured

LAKE FOREST PARK, WA – The Northshore Fire Department responded at 8:07 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1st to a structure fire in a one-story single family residence in the 3000 block of NE 190th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the eaves of the house. Fire broke out in an attic that was filled with storage. Firefighters had the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.

A couple and their son had retired for the evening and were unaware of the fire. Their other son came home, saw the smoke, evacuated the family, and then called 911.

There was one firefighter injury. Damages to the home are estimated at $75,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the King County Fire Investigation Unit.
