LFP City Council issues proclamation of recognition for Sen. Darlene Fairley

Senator Darlene Fairley will retire from public office on January 11, 2011 after 16 years in the Washington state Senate.

The City Council of Lake Forest Park issued a proclamation in recognition of exemplary public service by retiring Senator Darlene Fairley, noting her service in the legislature since 1995 and noting:

  • service on many influential committees, including recent appointments to Government Operations and Elections; Health and Long-Term Care; and Ways and Means and has utilized those positions to monitor and protect the election process, to support health care for vulnerable populations and to effectively advocate for fair and equitable budgetary decisions

  • scrutiny of critical issues facing the State to determine the impacts on her constituents and has involved citizens utilizing all means of communication,

  • providing regular and insightful reports to the Lake Forest Park City Council on accomplishments during each legislative session

  • serving on the LFP City Council during her freshman year in the legislature

  • dedication to furthering the interest of citizens of the community.

The Proclamation was signed by Deputy Mayor Dwight Thompson on behalf of the City of Lake Forest Park and its citizens.
