Fire in Shoreline home Tuesday

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Multiple Shoreline Fire crews responded to a house fire on 12/14/10 in the 16700 block of 3rd Ave NE . They arrived on scene around 8:30 am to find the split level home full of heavy smoke.

Investigators say the fire was caused by a stuffed animal placed too close to a space heater left on in the basement. No one was home at the time, and investigators were told that the occupants were in the process of moving.

No one was injured, however there was substantial smoke and water damage throughout the residence.

Shoreline Fire would like to remind everyone to keep at least two feet of “safe distance” from fireplaces, stovetops, heat sources, wall heaters, space heaters.
