SCC Softball Sweeps Peninsula College, Wins Northern Region Championship

The Shoreline Community College Softball Team swept Peninsula College on Tuesday afternoon in Port Angeles and captured their first NWAACC Northern Region Championship in 8 years.

The Lady Dolphins are now 25-9 overall and 20-2 in the region.

Kim Kocik and Lynsey Walter picked up the victories on the mound for SCC with Kocik pitching a three hitter in the opener and going 3-5 at the plate in the second game. Laice Dedrick was 3-3 in the first game with a homerun.

SCC plays the final doubleheader of the season on Saturday against Everett CC (at the Everett Boys and Girls Club) at 1:00 PM. They then travel to Portland, Oregon to begin play in the NWAACC Softball Championship on May 21 as one of the top four seeds in the tournament. The Dolphins will face the #4 Seed from East Region at 9:30 am on the 21st.
