District boys’ soccer, baseball tournaments continue this week

Northwest District tournament play continues this week for the Shorecrest boys; soccer, Shorecrest baseball and Shorewood baseball teams.


The undefeated, nationally-ranked and defending state 3A champion Shorecrest boys’ soccer team defeated Lynnwood 6-0 in the first round of the 3A tournament Saturday at Shoreline Stadium. Eli Blauser scored two goals for Shorecrest against Lynnwood. Eric Baker and Sam Schober split the shutout. The Scots will play Everett in the second round at 7:30 pm Tuesday, May 11, at Shoreline Stadium.

The Scots had finished their undefeated regular season May 5 with a 6-1 victory over Mountlake Terrace. Glenn Paden scored three goals for Shorewood; Blauser had two goals and two assists,

The defending 3A District One baseball champion Shorecrest defeated Ferndale 5-3 on Saturday at Shorecrest. Matty Rohrback and Hayden McNabb each homered in Shorecrest's win. Rohrback pitched a complete game and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and eight strikeouts. Shorecrest will next play Glacier Peak Tuesday, May 11, at 4 pm at Sherman Anderson Field in Mount Vernon.

The Shorewood baseball team lost 2-1 to Kamiak High School in Mukilteo. Shorewood's run came on a solo homer by Robbie Rusch. Shorewood will play Monroe in a loser-out 4A game Monday, May 10, at 4 pm at Everett Memorial Stadium.
