City of Shoreline Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program returns with class October 18, 2026

We’re excited to announce the return of the City of Shoreline Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program! After a pause, we are relaunching CERT with a brand‑new class, and we’d love for community members to join us and help build a more prepared and resilient Shoreline.

• Time: 8:00am - 5:00pm

What is CERT?

The Community Emergency Response Team program trains community members in basic disaster response skills so they can safely assist themselves, their families, and their neighbors during emergencies. CERT volunteers play an important role in strengthening community preparedness and supporting response efforts when professional help may be delayed.

CERT training includes:

• Preparedness and emergency planning
• Fire safety and extinguishing small fire
• Disaster medical operations
• Light search and rescueDisaster Psychology
• Radio Communications
• Team organization

Participants are welcome to take this training for their own personal preparedness and general knowledge, or they may choose to stay involved and join the CERT team. Those who join the team will become City volunteers and may be called upon to support the community if city services are disrupted or during significant emergencies.

Our upcoming CERT class will be the first of the program’s return, and we’re looking forward to welcoming both new participants and past CERT members who would like to refresh their skills.
