The City of Lake Forest Park has an opening for a Summer Engineering/GIS Intern (30 -40 hrs/week)

Position Summary

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, not lasting more than five (5) months. Specific beginning and ending dates may be flexible to meet the needs of the department.

This position reports to the Project Manager. Employees in this position perform routine, entry level technical civil engineering and geographic information system (GIS) mapping work. Duties are performed both in an office and field environment. This position may require interaction with the general public.

Tasks assigned may include such duties as:
  • Conducting field surveys;
  • Basic water quality & facility inspections and investigations;
  • Maintaining clear, concise and accurate records;
  • Developing and/or updating maps and related documents;
  • General office work such as filing, scanning, data entry, research; and
  • Other related tasks.
