Briarcrest Neighborhood Crime Prevention Meeting Jan 20

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Tuesday, January 20 from 7:00-9:00 pm
Prince of Peace Church, 14514 - 20th Ave NE

Shoreline Police Officer Steve Perry, Community Outreach / Problem Solving Officer for the City of Shoreline, will discuss the current wave of burglaries and property crimes in the City of Shoreline and in Briarcrest in particular, as well as other topics of interest.  He will share information on how burglars are targeting and entering homes as well as tips on how best to protect our homes and property.

Officer Perry will also present how to establish a Shoreline Watch (formerly Block Watch) and will provide literature and police contact information to all who are interested. Shoreline Watch is a block-by-block program initiated by neighbors within an individual block who schedule their own meeting with a police officer, where they learn crime prevention tips and then exchange contact information with each other.

There will also be a sign-up sheet for neighbors interested in joining the Briarcrest Neighborhood Association. The BNA facilitates Briarcrest residents working together and with the City of Shoreline to improve their neighborhood and fosters a sense of community through special events (a summer party is in the works!), participating in the Shoreline Council of Neighborhoods, and sharing information.
