Shrek the Musical at RBCC in Shoreline opens May 2

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a “short” temper, a truth-bending puppet, a cookie with an attitude, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand ... and his name is Shrek. The show is filled with lively music, lasting messages, a bit of irreverent humor, and offers something for everyone to love.

Is Shrek The Musical primarily for kids? Definitely not! Shrek is a story about inner beauty and being true to who you really are. It is about an outsider searching for his place in the world, something that is part of the human condition. Finding out where you fit and who you truly are – not who people say you are – is a journey we all go on at some point.
