Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday - what's open - what's closed

Monday, January 17, 2011

  • Don't bother checking your mailbox - the Postal Service is closed.
  • Costco is open.
  • City Hall - Shoreline and Lake Forest Park - closed and in Shoreline, the Monday Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 18.
  • Metro buses are on holiday schedule.
  • Shoreline Schools are closed.
  • Community Transit: Community Transit local and Swift buses will be on regular weekday schedules. Seattle service will be reduced on Routes 401, 402, 413, 415 and 421; trips marked with an “H” in the route schedule online and in Bus Plus will not operate that day. University District service will be provided only by Route 855 from Lynnwood Transit Center; Routes 810, 821, 860, 871, 880 and 885 are canceled for the day.
  • Sound Transit buses and trains will be on regular weekday schedules on Martin Luther King Day. (Except the ones blocked by mudslides.)
  •  As a general rule, expect retail businesses to be open and government offices and schools to be closed.
  • Banks and credit unions are usually closed.
