North City declared the Season open on Saturday night, December 4, with the arrival of Santa on a Water District truck.

At Les Schwab, the Around the Sound, Shoreline-based community band played carols and the crowd sang along.

Event Organizer Charlotte Haines welcomed the crowd and Santa told them to be good.

The switch was thrown and the tree on the top of the water tower lit up the skies.

The skies were clear and the air was brisk. The crowd fueled up on cookies and cider.
